Star AllianceTM the official airline network of the ERS Barcelona 2010 Congress

We are delighted to be appointed for the ninth year in a row as official airline network of the ERS Annual Congress.

Arrival at Barcelona International Airport

Barcelona' s main international airport is only 15 km from the city centre.

By train

Trains leave from near Terminal T2 and stop at two stations before arriving at Barcelona Sants, a rail hub to the west of the city, then on to Paseo de Gracia (Passeig de Gracia) in the citycentre. A shuttle transports passengers arriving at Terminal 1to the train station. Trains leave approximately 30 minutes, the one-way train fare is €2.80 and travel time is around 25minutes. Onward links are by Metro or bus.

By bus

The ‘"Aerobus" express bus service leaves from outside arrivals at Terminals 1 and 2 (A, B and C) and arrives at "Pl. de Catalunya" in the city centre. The service normally runs every 15 minutes, the one-way bus fare is €4.50 and traveltime is around 30 minutes.

Taxi

Taxis are available at arrivals outside Terminals 1 and 2 (A,B, and C). A taxi from the airport to the city centre costs approximately €30 per trip and takes about 20 minutes (depending on traffic).

Arrival in Barcelona by train

There are two major train stations:

  • Barcelona Sants, a railhub to the west of the city;
  • Paseo de Gracia (Passeig de Gracia) in the city centre.

Onward links are by Metro or bus.


Public transport ticket

Barcelona offers an extensive travel network by Metro, tram and bus.

The complimentary Event ticket, included in the registration fee, allows free use on all Barcelona Metropolitan transport (TMB) in the city during the Congress period 18-22 September 2010.

This ticket is not valid on the Aerobus airport bus.


Departure for Barcelona International

From the Congress Centre

The number 46 bus departs from near the Congress Centre, arrives at Terminal 2 and takes approximately 30 minutes.

The free congress Event transport ticket is valid for this journey.

From the city centre

By airport bus: take the Aerobus (Linea A1 to terminal 1, Linea A2 to terminal 2) from in front of El Corte Inglés in Pl. Catalunya; from Sants Estació train station; or from Pl. Espanya in front of the Hotel Plaza.

By train: take the line 2 train from Paseo de Gracia (Passeig de Gracia), Barcelona Sants, Barcelona-El Clot Aragó or Barcelona-St. Andreu Comtal to Terminal 2.
